The intersection at Klemme Road and Exchange Avenue in Crete Township is both rural and suburban—within a quarter mile, you’ll find farm houses and plenty of crop acreage, as well as burgeoning developments and subdivisions. All this transitional growth causes this intersection to handle unusually high volumes of traffic on a daily basis. Gallagher engineered and implemented a plan for widening and rebuilding this important site with special consideration to the need for efficient traffic flow, with minimal inconvenience to the public throughout the project cycle. Special attention also had to be given toward maintaining effective access for one of the township’s key fire stations, which is located at the intersection.
From groundbreaking to finish, the project took only a matter of a few short weeks. And at no point in the project’s timeline was there any extraordinary backlog of significant traffic. Nor were there ever any issues which impeded the fire station’s ingress or egress.
