ASPHALT PLANT OPERATIONS MANAGER

The Asphalt Plant Operations Manager reports directly to the Vice President of Operations. This role is delegated full authority, consistent with the responsibility for the administration, control, direction and supervision of all processing plant and site operations (HMA and RAP Processing) at our Thornton, Joliet, Bourbonnais, and MAT Asphalt plants. This person strives for operational excellence by providing clear and consistent standards to plant personnel regarding plant operations, scheduling, material requirements, maintenance, safety, production, quality, housekeeping and records and reporting and manages capital improvement projects within budgets. This role is responsible for exercising values-based leadership by setting clear and attainable goals for plant teams, and holding each team member accountable by inspiring, mentoring, training/development, providing feedback through regular communication, evaluations of direct reports and engagement. The Asphalt Plant Operations Manager is accountable for all plant-related scheduling and coordination with construction areas and quality control personnel. This person establishes safety as a top priority, maintaining awareness of, and compliance to all applicable regulatory requirements for the Plants, and is continually alert of employees’ level of safety consciousness. This role promotes positive, constructive communication with various organizational leaders to provide for the needs of the plants and build teamwork and collaboration across the organization.


PROJECT MANAGER

The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for all financial management aspects of multiple concurrent construction projects, including project turnover from estimators, overseeing all operations of project construction, project costs, client relationships, and collecting revenues. The PM maintains high level schedules, budgets, production outlines, and deadlines for multiple concurrent projects. They work directly with customers to ensure satisfaction throughout the extent of the project until close out. PMs must accurately perform all aspects of cost control for job budget set-up and reporting, including the timely management of Accounts Payable/Receivable, change order management, and all project negotiations. PM’s enforce standard operating practices to drive excellence, control risk factors, and reduce the chances of errors and inefficiencies, and improve the odds to achieve safe and profitable projects. PM’s safely manage projects from inception through inspections and final acceptance. They are accountable for coordinating with Project Superintendents, Project Engineers, Field Engineers, Foremen, crews, and outside third parties (inspectors, customers, subcontractors, suppliers, etc.).


HOT-IN-PLACE RECYCLING (HIR) TECHNICAL SALES MANAGER

Hot-In-Place Recycling (HIR) is the cost-effective process for sustainable infrastructure, and we’re looking to add a new Technical Sales Manager on our HIR team to cover our Ohio, Indiana, and West Virginia Territory! The HIR Technical Sales Representative reports directly to the Director of Hot-In-Place Recycling. The primary objective of the Hot-in-Place Recycling Technical Sales Manager is to continue to grow Gallagher Asphalt Corporation’s Hot-In-Place (HIP) division in their respective territory. Must be willing and able to travel to customers on a regular basis by car and/or airplane (approximately 35% travel required).


STOREROOM SPECALIST 2 (CDL REQUIRED)

The Storeroom Specialist 2 assists with the set-up and fueling of the company’s service vehicles under the direction of the construction department. This role also assists with small tool management, repairs, and documentation of the location of all tools. Additionally, this person assists in all operations of the storeroom including maintaining stock levels, ensuring inventory accuracy, and issuing, receiving, organizing, and maintaining cleanliness of the storeroom. This role also assists in facilities management as needed. This is a full time, on-site, seasonal position (Guaranteed March - December with possible extension). Candidates MUST have CDL license to be eligible for this role. This person must have the ability to work variable schedules depending on Construction and Plant operations. Afternoon and evening hours are required for this position (2nd shift position 11:00am - 7:30pm). This position may require late evening and/or weekend hours (Saturdays) during peak season (May-November). This role is overtime eligible.


CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE

The Customer Service Representative is responsible for servicing the company’s internal and external customers, as well as supporting the daily operations of the command center. This position is primarily operating out of our Joliet plant location, and may also report to our Thornton location on select days. This person is responsible for on-site and remote scale duties at our Asphalt Plants in Joliet, Bourbonnais, and Thornton. This role will primarily be accountable for interacting with customers on a daily basis. This includes, but is not limited to, providing and processing information in response to Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) orders, trucking needs, as well as the full array of services Gallagher offers. This role will support retail sales in communication with our regular customers as well as relaying customers’ needs and opportunities to retail sales. This position will also support clerical and operational duties within the command center. The Customer Service Representative collaborates daily with Construction leadership, Project Superintendents, Field Personnel, Project Managers, Plant Foreman, and the Equipment Manager. Occasional night and weekend work may be required. This is a seasonal role, with 35 guaranteed weeks, with the season typically occurring between March and December.
